What is the TikTok caption character limit?

4,000 characters when you post in the TikTok app. Apps that post for you through TikTok's posting tools are often held to 2,200. Hashtags count toward the limit.

How long can an Instagram caption be?

2,200 characters, and about the first 125 show before "more". Put the point of the post in the first line.

How many hashtags can I use?

Instagram allows 5 per post since December 2025, and TikTok has shown many users a 5-hashtag limit since mid-2025. On YouTube, more than 60 hashtags and all of them are ignored.

How long can a YouTube Shorts title be?

100 characters. Shorter titles read better, because the Shorts feed cuts long ones off.
