Connect AI agents

Off Camera works with AI apps like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Connect one, and you can ask it things like “make 5 slideshows for my brand and plan them for this week”. It uses Off Camera for you, with the same plan, limits and checks as the app.

It works through MCP, the standard way AI apps use other apps. All you need is a private link from Settings: paste it into your AI app and you're done. Settings, AI agents walks you through it for each app, with your link already filled in and one-click buttons for Cursor and VS Code.

Make a link

  • Open Off Camera and go to Settings, AI agents.
  • Pick your AI app, pick the brand if you have more than one, and press Make a link.
  • Copy the link. It's shown once, so paste it into your AI app right away, and keep it like a password.

Each link works in one brand. Make one for each AI app, so you can cancel one without the others. A link looks like https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY. The part after /c/ is your key, which starts with oc_live_; in the setups below that use a key, put yours where it says oc_live_YOUR_KEY.

Claude (the website, the desktop app and the phone app)

  • In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors (opens in a new tab). Click + and pick Add custom connector.
  • Name it Off Camera, paste your link and click Add. If it asks how to sign in, pick No sign in.
  • In a chat, turn Off Camera on from the + menu, under Connectors, and ask for posts.

Free Claude plans can add one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it for everyone first, in the organization's settings. A connector you add on the web works in the Claude app on your phone too.

Claude Desktop, with a config file and a key

If you'd rather keep the key out of the link: in Claude Desktop, open Settings, Developer, Edit Config, paste this into the file, put your key in, save, and restart Claude. It needs Node.js on your computer.

claude_desktop_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "offcamera": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://offcamera.co/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${OFFCAMERA_AUTH}"],
      "env": { "OFFCAMERA_AUTH": "Bearer oc_live_YOUR_KEY" }
    }
  }
}

ChatGPT

  • Go to ChatGPT's plugins (opens in a new tab), click + and pick Add custom MCP server. No + button? Turn on Developer mode in Settings first.
  • Name it Off Camera, paste your link as the server URL, pick No authentication and click Create.
  • In a chat, type @Off Camera and ask for posts. ChatGPT asks you before it uses a tool that changes something.

Adding your own server needs a paid ChatGPT plan. On Business or Enterprise, an admin may need to allow it first.

If you build with OpenAI's API, you can connect with a key. OpenAI asks you to approve each call unless you turn that off.

Python, OpenAI's Responses API
from openai import OpenAI

client = OpenAI()
response = client.responses.create(
    model="gpt-5",
    tools=[{
        "type": "mcp",
        "server_label": "offcamera",
        "server_url": "https://offcamera.co/mcp",
        "headers": {"Authorization": "Bearer oc_live_YOUR_KEY"},
    }],
    input="Make 4 slideshows for my brand and tell me when they're ready.",
)
print(response.output_text)

Cursor

In Settings, AI agents, pick Cursor and press Add to Cursor. Cursor opens and asks to install Off Camera: click Install. The button opens Cursor directly on your computer, so your link never passes through another website.

By hand: open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (the .cursor folder in your home folder), paste this and put your link in. Keep links out of a project's own .cursor folder if it goes to GitHub.

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "offcamera": { "url": "https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY" }
  }
}

VS Code

In Settings, AI agents, pick VS Code and press Add to VS Code. VS Code opens: click Install. Then open Copilot Chat, pick Agent, and ask for posts. It needs GitHub Copilot; on Copilot Business or Enterprise, an admin turns on MCP servers first.

By hand: run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, or add this to your mcp.json. VS Code calls them servers.

mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "offcamera": { "type": "http", "url": "https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY" }
  }
}

Claude Code

Run this once in your terminal. It adds Off Camera to every project on this computer; type /mcp in Claude Code to check it's connected.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user offcamera https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY

Or keep the key in a header instead of the link:

Terminal, with a header
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user offcamera https://offcamera.co/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer oc_live_YOUR_KEY"

Codex

Run this once in your terminal. The Codex app and the IDE extension read the same setup, so they get Off Camera too.

Terminal
codex mcp add offcamera --url https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY

Windsurf

In Windsurf (now called Devin Desktop), open the … menu in the Cascade panel, then MCPs, then Open MCP config file. Paste this, put your link in, save, and refresh the MCP list. If the file already lists servers, add offcamera next to them.

mcp_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "offcamera": { "serverUrl": "https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY" }
  }
}

Gemini CLI

Run this once in your terminal, then type /mcp in Gemini CLI to check it's connected.

Terminal
gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user offcamera https://offcamera.co/mcp/c/oc_live_YOUR_KEY

Other AI apps

Any app that connects to MCP servers over the web (“Streamable HTTP”) works. Give it your connector link as the address, or, if it asks for headers, the address https://offcamera.co/mcp and the header Authorization: Bearer oc_live_YOUR_KEY. An app that only runs servers on your computer can use mcp-remote, the way the Claude Desktop setup does.

What your AI can do

The same things you can do in the app, for one brand, within your plan. The tools come in three kinds:

Reads

Reads your brand, your posts, your accounts and what's left this month. Changes nothing.

Tools that reads
list_brandsThe brand this link works in, with its website and how many posts it has.
get_brandWhat Off Camera knows about the brand from its website: what it makes, who it's for, its tone.
list_postsYour posts: drafts in Dailies, the Library, planned and posted.
get_postOne post: its words, caption, hashtags, a link to open it, and its files once exported.
get_jobHow a longer job is going (making posts, reading a website, exporting), and what it made.
list_accountsYour brand's TikTok, Instagram and YouTube accounts, and which ones are linked.
get_usageYour plan, and the posts and AI credits left this month.

Makes

Makes posts and their files the way you would here, from your plan's posts.

Tools that makes
make_postsMakes 1 to 8 posts: a Dailies deck from your website, or slideshows, memes and walls of text about an idea.
read_websiteReads a website into the brand: the first read, or a fresh one. Takes about a minute.
export_postMakes a post's video or pictures, in 9:16 or 4:5 where the kind allows it.

Posts

Plans a post on your linked accounts, or posts it now. The only thing that goes public.

Tools that posts
schedule_postPlans a post on your accounts at a time, or posts it now.

Making posts and reading a website take a little while, so those tools hand back a job, and your AI checks it with get_job until it's done. Every answer starts with one plain sentence, then the details. App screen, shop, AI creator, remix and prank posts are made in the app for now.

Limits

Your AI uses your plan, exactly as you do in the app:

What each plan includes
Free5, in the Free plan's 7 daysNone
Starter100None
Growth300700
Pro1,0001,800
  • Exporting a post uses one of the month's posts. Exporting it again is free.
  • 60 requests a minute for each link (or key). Your account's own limits count too: 300 requests a minute, 60 exports an hour for each brand, and a daily cap on new decks and website reads.
  • Up to 10 links at once.
  • When something runs out, your AI gets a plain sentence that says so, like “You've used this month's 100 posts. Upgrade at offcamera.co/app/plans.”

Safety

  • Your AI acts as you, in the one brand its link is for. It can't see your other brands or anyone else's.
  • It can't change your plan, buy anything, delete anything, make or cancel links or keys, or see your password or payment details.
  • Posting is the one thing that goes public. Ask your AI to show you a post before it schedules it. Claude and ChatGPT ask you before they use a tool, unless you tell them not to.
  • Making a cloned ad uses AI credits, so it needs your yes and the exact credits you saw. If the cost changed, nothing is made.
  • Off Camera keeps only a scrambled copy of each key, never the key. If a link or key gets out, cancel it in Settings: it stops working right away.

Keep your link like a password

Anyone with your link can make posts in its brand and use its plan. Don't paste it into a chat or a shared document; paste it only where your AI app asks for it.
